Cable Convention Cries Over Losses

satelliteIn a related continuance of last week’s ABC story, the number of subscribers ‘cutting the cord’ by canceling their cable or satellite service to watch TV online is now such a threat to their mountainous profits, the industry is due to debate it at the National Cable Show conference that bows tomorrow in Washington state.

In the last year alone, shares in cable TV channels have lost over 30% of their value, and as 95% of American TV is created by people who make Ebeneezer Scrooge look like a scurrilous spendthrift, this is considered a problem. The National Cable & Telecommunications Association, this year’s hosts, expect some lively debate, but a decision may be hard to achieve as  roughly 20% of those in charge are not currently due to attend.

This is almost beneath parody. They produce and/or carry abysmally cheap shows in a flagrant attempt to maximize profits, then start crying at Conventions that people are not making them rich by paying monthly extortion to be exposed to this brain-rotting dross.

And they’re so desperate to find a solution, large swathes of these ‘victims’ don’t even show up.

If you feed your customers gruel, you can’t be surprised if they dine somewhere else.

Stick around – These indulgent ingrates are so utterly clueless and driven by greed, they’ll probably make a reality show out of this.
