Carrie Prejean in trouble as new photos appear

crownWhile Maine and New Hampshire are celebrating new freedoms for gay people, Miss California’s anti-gay views are sinking her fast.

And Mr. Trump’s got his foot on her head.

Already wounded by public reaction to her views on gay marriage and the lingerie photo that emerged last week, troubled beauty contestant, Carrie Prejean, is now facing new calls for the return of her crown after a new sexy photo was published last night. And ‘The Donald’ is reportedly keen to oblige.

The 21-year old had assured California pageant officials the first topless photo was all she had done. The release of a new one has now placed both her title and veracity in serious doubt.

Those in charge of the pageant have held meetings with lawyers and Donald Trump’s aides [He owns the whole show] to discuss the removal of Carrie’s state title. Posing for photos is grounds for dismissal, and like all the contestants Ms. Prejean signed a contract which confirmed her acceptance of this as a rule.

In a statement released through her new publicist, Ms. Prejean now says the photos are “a vicious and mean-spirited” attempt to smear her for “defending traditional marriage.” This curious example of intellectual gymnastics goes on to say that, “These attacks on me and others who defend traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others’ opinions.”

Memo to Carrie: You first!

She claims that she wants all opinions respected, then makes it risibly clear the only ones she regards as deserving such treatment are hers. How exactly is this a show of ‘respect’?

But her troubles – like her soapbox – may soon be removed; Shanna Moakler, a co-director of the ‘Miss California’ team has already met with the runner-up for the title to discuss the next step if [when?] Prejean is dethroned.

It’s not all bad news for Carrie, however; An organization called, ‘The National Organization for Marriage.’ has announced she will be the face of their new $1.5-million campaign to support and promote ‘conventional’ marriage.

Whether she’ll still have the jobwhen her crown is revoked is a fact we have yet to discover…
