This is a sad day. Despite valiant efforts by dozens of blogs and web sites to rally the faithful, ABC has finally decided to kill “Pushing Daisies.” The press release doesn’t actually use the word ‘canceled,’ but PD’s odds of return or survival make the proverbial snowball’s look like a sure thing.

Sources tell me PD has not received the last rights and been canceled - Yet. But ABC will be using tonight’s episode, and possibly next week’s as the final and critical [...]
The news is not good. According to those who are advised on such things, Pushing Daisies is effectively dead. Rumors of its demise have been rife for weeks, but Daisies completed its current 13-episode order this week and ABC has made no effort to order more, which is usually a bad sign.
