Why all the ‘recycling’ stories are always from Fox is a very strange query – but here’s yet another: The suits in charge of ruining running Fox TV are now preparing a TV-reworking of the High School-angst movie, Heathers. First released in March of 1989 by Columbia Pictures the ‘crime-drama-romance,’ to [...] In further proof that Hollywood is fresh out of ideas and wasting their brain-cells in ‘recycle’ mode, Twentieth Century Fox has confirmed plans for an ‘Alien’ re-tread. After the global success of the ‘Star Wars’ reboot, Fox are now working on a prequel to ‘Alien,’ the 1979 Oscar-winning tale that launched [...] In February, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was the toast of LA. But since the limelight moved on, the treatment allotted to some of its stars has been nothing short of obscene. The movie, which cost Fox a mere $14-million to make has so far earned them $326-million and eight Oscars. Yet two of [...] “Dollhouse,” which barely captured 3-million viewers at its peak, is owned and produced by 20th Century Fox TV,…which itself is owned by News Corp. [...] Bloggers can be easy prey for those in the media who don’t share their views – or their ratings – but this time the bile’s gone too far: On Sunday. ‘Fixed News’ anchors Greg Jarrett and Julie Banderas were discussing the Miss California debacle, and they clearly wanted to be the [...] In an unexpected melange of not one but two recent stories, Hollywood Reporter informs us that Anil Kapoor, who achieved worldwide acclaim as the smooth-talking show host in ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ has just inked a deal to be a featured performer in the next, undeserved season of Fox’s dire drama, 24. Already [...] In news which offers a glimmer of hope that even the misguided souls who call Bill O’Reilly a reporter may actually possess some brain cells that work, Fox is said to be in final discussions with Wanda Sykes about launching a late-night Saturday comedy show, as a way to replace ‘Mad TV.’
Although rightly known for their rather ‘inconoclastic’ approach to factual reporting, Fox News have just launched an entirely online news show. Entitled, “Special Report, with Bret Baier” the 15-minute newscast will ‘air’ every Wednesday and even include a segment in which the host can chat with his viewers and ask guests their questions. [...] The New York Times is reporting that the Fox [melo]drama series, “24” is to become the first ‘carbon neutral’ television series. To offset the environmental impact of all those gratuitous car crashes and gun fights they intend to pay strange little men in India to run wind-farms that will balance the karma, and [...]
According to USA Today, Fox Sports [who else??] are currently in discussions with some of the larger theater chains to screen live coverage of College Football in 3-D. Their Chairman, David Hill, says he’d also like to offer coverage of NASCAR races in the same format, which he regards as [...] |
